MAINTENANCE OF BRILLIANTS
Cleaning Brilliants
Regular cleaning is important for a continuous glimmer in your brilliants. Here are some suggestions:
Professional Cleaning
This is the best solution. Furthermore, you should regularly check the brilliants to make sure the prongs on the jewellery are not bent or loosen.
With Mild Liquid Detergent
Immerse your jewellery into a full pot of lukewarm water soaped with any mild liquid detergent. With a mild toothbrush, gently brush the jewellery in the soap. Then rinse one by one in mild tap water and dewater with a lint-free soft cloth. Do not neglect to close your sink’s hole with a plug throughout this process.
Domestic-type ammonium
Leave your jewellery for 30 minutes in a small pot half-filled by cold and domestic-type ammonia. After extracting it out, gently clean the periphery of the setting with soft strokes by means of a small brush. Immerse your jewellery into the same solution once again, rinse it and dewater it with paper tissue.
With Jewellery Cleaning Liquid
Purchase a jewellery cleaning liquid of any brand and follow the instructions written on it.
Cleaning with Vodka
No one knows when this method was discovered. But someone seems to have taken the idea of “vodka on the rocks” serious and discovered this creative way of cleaning the valuable brilliant. Simply soak your brilliant in one glass of vodka that you do not intend to drink.
